3 Reasons to Celebrate Print on Earth Day 2016
Earth Day 2016 is on April 22nd this year and almost here.
Many non-print people may wonder why a print company is so excited by this day and we’ll tell you why:
- Paper is recyclable. You probably didn’t know it can be recycled up to 7 times before the fibers are too weak or short for papermaking? 82% of all recovered paper is used in tissues, container boards and other packaging products.
- Paper decomposes. Many digital activists will complain talk about how “wasteful” mailers are. But, tech waste has a terrible life cycle. While tech waste only accounts for 2% of America’s trash in landfills, it equates to an overwhelming 70% of our toxic waste.
- Print and paper actually GROWS trees, when sourced from responsibly managed forests. In fact, many companies plant TWO trees for every tree they harvest. Do you really think that paper and forest product companies would want to commit suicide by using up all their resources? We don’t think so!
